Often people have the question, “What kind of savings can be achieved in both time and money on the project to justify the additional expenses of a coordination review?” And in a business sense, it is a good question. However, it is extremely difficult to answer, and impossible to quantify.

Imagine this situation as a quick analogy. You are standing beside a busy intersection. Just as a bus approaches, the man standing next to you for some reason starts to step in front of the bus. You grab him by the shirt and pull him back to safety on the sidewalk. He turns to you and says, “Wow. Thanks, I really appreciate your help. How much pain and suffering, money, time, hassle did you just save me?” Your answer is, “I have no idea. I just know its A LOT!”
We can’t quantify the savings that a coordination review provided since we can’t go back in time and redo the construction process without the review.
It all boils down to trust. Trust in the concept that finding mistakes on paper is cheaper and faster to fix than mistakes in the field. And then trust that the review fee is minuscule compared to what would have happened if the review were not performed.

To take advantage of the evaluation, simply contact us before the end of the year (2008) and schedule a time when we can perform the evaluation. Then, prior to the start date, send us two complete sets of the drawings and specs to be evaluated. If there are any areas that you would like us to focus on, let us know. Otherwise, we’ll use our expertise to determine the items to look at in a spot check coordination review on your documents. When we’ve completed the evaluation, we’ll let you know what we found. We expect that you will be pleased with the results. If you would like us to continue reviewing the documents, we can then schedule the level of review you desire.
